At this year Math Court competitions, the LISS Tigers remained atop the high school division of the competition, which was held Nov. 7 at San Vicente Elementary School.

Coached by Richard Waldo and James Phillips, the LISS Tigers continue to dominate the top slots in the high school division for Geometry and Algebra 2.

“Coaching such talent from the LISS students is an invigorating experience. We have practiced numerous hours to ensure we come home with victory,” said Waldo.

Additionally, LISS students also did well during the National Forensic League and Junior National Forensic League competitions, held on the same day at SVES.

LISS students placed first, second, and fifth place in the NFL Poetry Reading, high school division; and fourth place in the Master Poetry Reading.

In the junior level, LISS placed second in Poetry Reading while in Elementary Math, LISS placed fourth in the 6th grade division.

“I am proud of the outcome. At first, I wondered whether we could place, given the school’s third year in operation. I owe all of this to the faculty and students who took this competition seriously and came out victorious,” said LISS Director Wayne Pangelinan. (PR) MATH COURT
