Chin edged Hocog to win November Ace
Chin Lin Wang nipped Matilde Hocog in a scorecard tiebreak to win the CNMI Women’s Golf Association November Ace of the Month Tournament held last Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Laolao Bay Golf Resort west course.
Chin and Hocog came away with the day’s best net score of 74, but the former recorded a lower gross score of 87 built around the 13-handicapper’s 44 in the front nine and 43 in the back nine score.
Hocog, for her part, carded a gross score of 82 based on her 49-44 performance in the first and final nine holes.
Chang Eun Ae came in third with a net 75, while Jeong Yi Su and Kyung Ran Seo finished with identical scores of 76 to complete the Top 5.
A total of 19 players took part in CWGA’s November Ace last weekend. The rest of the players, with their net scores in parenthesis, were as follows: Noriko Togawa (77); Shiori Onoue (77); Terry Tudela (77); Masayo Miyamoto (78); Dolores Yamagishi (78); Bennet Seman (79); Adachi Sachiko (81); Lou Kim (81); Yuko Togawa (83); Lorraine Babauta (84); Margaret Tenorio (87); and guest player Min Hua Yoon (gross 97).
Established in March 2007, CWGA is a nonprofit organization founded to promote, encourage, and introduce women to the sport of golf in the CNMI.
The organization intends to accomplish the following: 1. Promote civic and community interest in golf; 2. Establish and encourage competition and good sportsmanship; 3. Promote and provide social functions of the members and their families; 4. Promote youth golf activities; and 5. To do any or all things necessary and proper to accomplish its purpose and intention.
CWGA also commits its members to abide by a set of values that will further enrich a golfer’s performance, attitude, and conduct-adopted form the USA Junior Golf Association.
