The NMI Democratic Party issued a statement Saturday extending its appreciation to all supporters who voted in the Nov. 4 election.
“Not only do we have our first delegate, but we also have our first black president. We will keep you posted regarding our Democratic Appreciation Party and victory party for our president-elect Barack Obama later this month, where we will also be conducting our NMI Democrat registration drive. The Northern Marianas College will be conducting an English placement test on the following days:
-Dec. 10 5pm – 8pm RoomD-1
-Dec. 11 9am – 12pm Room D-1
-Jan. 8 5pm – 8pm Room D-1
-Jan. 9 1pm – 4pm Room D-1
-Jan. 14 9am – 12pm Room A-6
No admittance to the testing room will be allowed after the starting time.
Those who wish to take the test must bring a valid photo ID (driver’s license, passport or school ID) and pencils.
There is a $25 fee for the English Placement Test that must be paid in advance at NMC’s Finance Office (Monday to Friday, 9am – 4pm). Students will not be admitted to the testing room without proof of payment (a receipt for either the placement test fee or the NMC application fee). Payment for the application fee will cover the English placement test fee.

[B]Live fire training today on Farallon[/B]The Emergency Management Office and the U.S. Naval Forces Marianas Guam si warning the public that the U.S. military would be conducting live fire training on the island of Farallon de Mendenilla today, Nov. 10.
Today’s training will be from 7am to 6:30pm.
The general location of this activity will be on the island of Farallon de Mendenilla Training Area (R7201) on a 10 nautical mile radius on all quadrants.
Because of the danger inherent to this activity, EMOis strongly advising the public—especially fishermen, commercial pilots and marine tour operators—to stay away from this area during the time and date indicated.
