Due to popular demand, USS Peleliu Club will host its annual Halloween 8-Ball Tournament tonight, Nov. 1, at the famous Garapan watering hole and sports bar.

USSP owner and veteran cue artist Ken Phillips said the Halloween billiards competition will adopt a double-elimination format and starts at 7pm. Entry fee is pegged at $10

He added that cash prizes will be given for first, second, and third places and there will be in-house giveaways as well.

USSP also is also holding 8-ball tournaments on Mondays beginning 8pm, with an affordable $5 entry fee and the same double-elimination format.

The weekly tournaments are perfect practice for our annual Marianas Turkey Shoot, which will be held on Nov. 26 this year. “Here’s your chance to win cash and a turkey for your family and friends,” said Phillips.

Last year, Rolly Villanueva won the Halloween 8-Ball Tournament after besting a 16-player field.

Villanueva roared through the 8-ball winners’ bracket, defeating Ryan Odicta, Ed Suzuki, and Victor S. Hocog in quick fashion before dismissing Ed Manucdoc in the championship to win the Hallow’s Eve event.
