PIC welcomes its 10,000th Russian guest
This weekend, the Pacific Islands Club Saipan will welcome its 10,000th Russian guest after 12 years of catering to this emerging market.
Mr. and Mrs. Alexander and Irina Dronov, their 8-year-old son Andrey, and infant son Leonid are the lucky celebrants.
PIC has kept the celebration a secret from the Russian guests, so the Dronov family will be pleasantly surprised upon arrival on Saipan on early Saturday morning when Elly Stoilova, PIC’s Russian market manager and a Marianas Visitors Authority representative greet them personally to share the wonderful news.
From the airport, the family will be transferred to PIC on SkyCastle’s stretch Hummer Limousine, a service that they generously donated.
The hotel has prepared a variety of gifts and surprises for the family, including complimentary room nights at PIC, discounts and a special event at the Seaside Grill, and a tree-planting commemorative ceremony prior to their sunset dinner.
Local tour operators and companies also supported PIC in this special event. The First Floral Shop will decorate the guest room with flowers and balloons. In addition, the Dronov family is invited to enjoy a SandCastle dinner show, a “Stars & Stripes” and Saipan Sea Venture sunset dinner cruises, and dinner at Tony Roma’s, Capricciosa, and Restaurant 360.
Hertz Rent a Car donated the free use of a Ford Explorer SUV for two days, while Toyota Rent a Car offered a Toyota Corolla for another two days so the family can view the island’s scenic spots on four separate days.
Thanks to Tasi Tours, the lucky family will experience the beauty of Managaha Island and Pacific Subsea will help them explore the underwater world of Saipan ’s rich azure lagoon in its yellow submarine, the Deepstar. While Mr. Dronov enjoys bottom fishing with J.M. Guerrero & Associates, Mrs. Dronova will be pampered at the Mandi Asia Spa.
But the gifts don’t end here. DFS has also prepared an amazing luxury set and MVA is offering the lucky Vladivostok family a trip to remember to Tinian with a one-night stay at the Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino. Ladera International School is inviting the 8-year-old to the school for a complimentary half-day of English classes.
The 10,000th Russian guest celebration commemorates PIC’s 12 years of continuous service to the Russian market. Since 1996, PIC has devoted its resources in developing this growing tourism market. For the last six years, PIC has worked to improve its Russian language website with current events and promotions. It also contains thorough information of the CNMI and answers questions for the curious traveler.
In 2005, PIC partnered with MVA to create the first Russian Saipan map and the Russian CNMI Guidebook, which is continuously updated and reprinted annually. Pacific Islands Club is proud to be the first hotel to translate into Russian all in-house information and collateral seven years ago as well as enhance services for the Russian traveler by adding a DVD and book library. Today, PIC accommodates the needs of the growing Russian visitors with a dozen Russian staff. (PIC)
