D’Pirates score a stunner over Primo’s in 8-ball
The visiting D’Pirates Huwa posted a stunner over pacesetter Primo’s Home Boys, 3-1, last Tuesday night in the Obyan Division of the Budwesiser Open 8-Ball League.
D’Pirates, composed of Ray Basa, Ray Takai, Ed Suzuki, John Camacho and Pat Cepeda, lost the first frame, 37-38, before charging back with 42-36 and 38-37 wins in the next two frames to take the game away with a total round victory of 117-111.
With the win, D’Pirates are now 21-19 and in third place.
Despite the loss, the Home Boys were still in the lead with 27-13.
In another exciting match, the Perfect Spotters continued its gradual climb to the top as they are now in second place with a 24-16 win-loss card.
This was after the Perfect Spotters won over VFW Warriors, 3-1. The team of Serge Tibudan, Eric Piol, Johnny Dugos, Primo Ferrera, and Mario Jumalon, scored rounds of 46, 34, and 41 for a total of 121.
The Warriors were relegated to the bottom of the standings with 13-27. The team of Raena Bermudes, Fred Camacho, Tawny Barcinas, Nelson Pagaduan, and Shiela Muna had rounds of 27, 43, 39 for a total of 109.
In the other game of the Obyan Division, Coral Reef Barracuda moved to fifth place by beating fourth-running USSP Fotten Palau, 3-1.
The Barracudas are now 15-25 while Fotten Palau still has a better record of 20-20.
The Barracudas, composed of Nizer Masayos, Oscar Sablan, Tom Tebuteb, John Peter, and Leo Sablan, posted rounds of 39, 39, and 45 for a total of 123.
Fotten Palau had rounds of 46, 36, 33 for 114.
In the Agingan Division, the PTI Voyagers won anew over USSP Wat Ever, 3-1, to keep its hold of the lead with 32-8. Wat Ever is in fourth with 13-27.
SaipanCell Hustlers also came up with another 3-1 win against Coral Reef Shark Attack.
The Hustlers were in second place with 29-11, while Shark Attack dropped to sixth place with an 11-29 record.
Third-running Islander Rent A Car halved points with fifth-ranked Godfather’s Rock Steady, 2-2.
Islander had a 23-17 record while Rock Steady was groping form with 12-28.
