Engine 3 at Power Plant 1 was shut down yesterday for about an hour due to an electrical problem with the breaker.

The breaker affected the secondary water-cooling system, which automatically shut down the unit at 11:02 am, said Gary Camacho, acting Power Division manager for the Commonwealth Utilities Corp.

Feeder 4, covering portions of Lower Base, Sadog Tasi, Capital Hill, Kagman and portions of Papago (Botanical Garden), and feeder 7, covering Lower Base industrial area, north to Tanapag, Achugao, San Roque, As Matuis and Marpi, were affected.

Feeder 7 was back online at 11:54 am, while the first partial of feeder 4 was back at 11:54 and the second partial was up and running at 11:55, “which brought us up to normal conditions,” Camacho said.
