Congratulations go out to Meguro Yuji and Wataya Ayumi who were married last Thursday in a wedding ceremony at the Hyatt Regency Saipan.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Meguro exchanged vows on Saipan through a wedding package arranged by the Japan Travel Bureau.

Tasi Tours president Kazusuke Fukuju said his company has been trying to invite couples in Japan to get married on Saipan and the Meguro-Wataya union is the first of what hopefully will become a trend of Japanese weddings on the island.

“Tasi Tours is trying to introduce different locations aside from the usual garden wedding in different hotels. We even try to plan holding ceremonies in Managaha Island just for a change. And also to give them more satisfaction, we would like to make this easy for the family as well by assisting them in automatically registering their marriage to the Japanese government,” he said.

After the ceremony, the newlyweds hopped into one of Big Boys’ signature pink stretched Lincolns and drove to Gentle Brook Cafe in Susupe for their wedding reception.

“I would like to convey my warm congratulations to newlyweds Yuji and Ayumi and also to their families. I appreciate and I’m so happy that you decided to get married on this beautiful island. I hope that you feel the real spirit of the islands on this very special occasion in your life. And likewise will convince more couple to do their weddings here on Saipan as well,” said Fukuju, who also serves on the board of the Marianas Visitors Authority.
