IT&E unveiled its new logo and tagline last Wednesday, Oct. 1, at the Hyatt Regency Guam in Tumon. Over 100 government, business, and community leaders joined ITE and PTI associates in celebrating IT&E’s new logo and tagline while getting a look at the new $10-million next generation EVDO Rev A. network that is currently being deployed on Guam.

The main color of the IT&E logo remains blue, symbolizing the company’s continued commitment to the local Guam community. The blue button fringed inside a brushed-silver finish frame, in which the name IT&E nestles is about the sleek, clean, and progressive image of technology. The frame symbolizes a window to the future and the fact that IT&E will constantly bring the latest technology to its customers. It is classic and simple, rendered in a manner that also reflects the company’s corporate tradition.

Also, unveiled was IT&E’s new tagline, “Life in Motion.”

“It was chosen because of the constant change in technology that allows people to do more that ever away from home,” said Ricky Delgado, president and CEO of IT&E. “The tagline ‘Life in Motion’ means that there is no need to be at home or in the office to be fully connected to the world,” he added.

The new network is backed by a progressive web of cutting-edge technology that aims to deliver a new standard of telecommunication service that will define the industry and inspire the community it serves. IT&E’s EVDO Rev. A high speed network is the same used by U.S. telecom giants Verizon Wireless and Sprint who have well over half of the U.S. wireless market.

Last month in the CNMI, PTI was the first in Micronesia to launch an EV-DO high-speed mobile broadband network. IT&E and PTI now offer the first and fastest next generation mobile broadband network serving Guam, Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.

The network will feature speeds up to 10 times faster than the current 1XRTT wireless data network. EV-DO Rev. A offers customers the ability to access email, photos, spreadsheets and other large files via their phone or laptop at unprecedented speeds.

Customers will also enjoy a new world of entertainment as their phones can easily access social networking sites such as MySpace, Facebook and Friendster. The ability to watch streaming video from the Internet as well as the ability to upload videos to popular sharing sites like YouTube from a wireless phone makes this next generation mobile broadband a must. IT&E will offer customers the opportunity to “Go Unlimited” with one of the new IT&E unlimited data packages. Both companies offer regional home coverage that will allow customers to use high speed data in Guam or the CNMI at no additional costs.

“We are extremely excited about the potential of our growing network and in keeping with the IT&E tradition, want to be known as a local company focused on bringing the world’s finest mobile broadband technology not just to places that make economic sense but to all the customers we serve. The fact that we cover both Guam and the CNMI is testament to our long- term commitment to the people of Guam and the region,” said Delgado.

The PTI Group is the largest telecommunications company in the Marianas with over 75,000 total subscribers on four islands.

It was purchased from Verizon by Prospector Holdings Inc. of the Philippine-based Delgado family in September of 2005. In 2006, Sumitomo Corporation invested $25 million as a long-term strategic partner. Together both companies continue to work closely to expand the group of companies with a long term regional orientation in mind. (IT&E)
