Royal Patron of Whales declaration

The public is invited to attend a presentation event to officially declare Her Royal Highness Princess Salote Mafile’o Pilolevu Tuita as the Royal Patron of Whales in the Kingdom of Tonga in honor of the Tongan Royal Family’s commitment to protecting whales.

The event will take place on Friday, Oct. 3, at the Puatakenave Hotel, Vavau, Tonga. The official ceremony will take place between 5:30 and 6:40pm followed by refreshments and entertainment by the Housia Brothers.

The event is hosted by IFAW, the Tonga Visitors Bureau, Vavau Tourism Association and the Tonga Whale Watching Operators Association. It will be attended by Edgar Cocker, CEO Tonga Visitors Bureau; Erica Martin, director IFAW Asia Pacific; Lolesio Lui, president, Vavau Tourism Association; Allan Bowe, president, Tonga Whale Watching Operators Association.
