The PTI Voyagers triumphed over the SaipanCell Hustlers, 4-0, in the battle of telecommunications company-sponsored teams last Tuesday night’s in the 2008 Budweiser Open 8-Ball League.
Voyagers pulled off scores of 46-39, 49-31, 43-34 for total of 135-104 to take back the lead behind the shot-making prowess of Luis Fajardo, Roman Rodriguez, Jean Cadag, Jojo Talibong, and Rolly Villanueva.
The team now sports a league-leading 18-2 win-loss record in the Agingan Division of the competition organized by Saipan Billiards Association.
On the other hand, the Hustlers, composed of Senen Pangelinan, Robert Sanciangco, Joey Lucido, Rowel Mariano, and Jerry Soriano, was relegated to a tie at second and third places with a 16-8 slate with Islander Rent A Car.
Islander’s Don Antonio, Eric Caisip, Jomer Enriquez, Rey Pinangay, and Joey Cruz also fashioned out a 4-0 blanking off Coral Reef Shark Attack, which was brought further down in the team standings with a woeful 4-20 mark, good for dead last.
Meanwhile, there will be a rematch of the Sept. 16 encounter between the Voyagers and USSP Wat-Ever because the former illegally defaulted the aforementioned game. The Voyagers showed up with only three players in the five-player lineup tournament.
On Sept. 23, Wat-Ever’s Ace Elameto, Rick Elepante, Norman Tenorio, Ed Monundoc and Sam Kapileo vented their ire on Godfather’s Rock Steady and posted a 4-0 victory at home and moved up to solo fourth place with 7-13 win-loss slate.
Games in the Agingan Division next Tuesday, Sept. 30, will be Wat-Ever hosting Islander; PTI gong up against Coral Reef, and Rock Steady taking on SaipanCell.
In the Obyan Division, the top two teams were beaten at home. D’Pirates Huwa and Primos Home Boys lost to their respective rivals but remained on top with identical 15-9 win-loss records.

The Perfect Spotters are now in solo third with 14-10.
USSP Fotten Palau, composed of Taylor Watanabe, Mei Rengiil, Ron Chisato, R.E. Rengiil, and John Mongami, moved up to fourth place, improving to 11-13 following its 3-1 win over Home Boys 1.

Games in the Obyan Division on Sept. 30 will have VFW squaring off against USSP, Perfect Spotters against Home Boys, and Coral Reef locking horns with D’Pirates.
