MAFEA to induct its new 2008 officers on Sept. 27
Officers of the Marianas Association of Filipino Engineers and Architects for year 2008 will be inducted this coming Saturday, Sept 27, at the Fiesta Resort and Spa Saipan.
The group held a luncheon meeting yesterday at the Miggy’s Restaurant along Middle Road in Garapan, where they finalized the program of activities for the induction ceremonies.
The induction program will be from 6pm to 10 pm.
Invited guests will include Martin Sablan from the Department of Public Works, Philippine Consul General Wilfredo D.L. Maximo and Joan L. Lavilla of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office.
They have also invited Gov. Benigno Fitial but they’re not sure if he could make it because of other important commitments. They’re still hoping, though, that the governor could grace the occasion.
Established in 1995, MAFEA has some 75 members in the CNMI.
One of their plans for this year is to build a project—possibly a pavilion—that would benefit not only their members but the whole CNMI community. They said they want it to be something memorable and permanent.
The group elected their new set of officers about two months ago in July. The new officers shall have a term of one year.
Norberto ‘Bong’ De Guzman was elected President, Hector Sevilla (Internal Vice President), Ruel Magtalas (External Vice President), Carlito J. Marquez (Secretary), Joseph ‘Jun’ Liberato (Treasurer), Dominador Aquino (Auditor), Eric Tabanda (Public Relations Officer), and Fernando Fortades (Business Manager).
The members of the Board of Directors are Henry Bautista (Chairman), Noli Villacrusis, Andrew Mesina, Randy Jacob, Joseph Hornilla, Roger Talapan, Rommel Crisostomo, and Ismael Cuenco.
The group’s advisers include Tito Villapando, Toots Lumactod, Cecilio de la Cruz Jr., Geoffrey Melchor, Tim Paez, Nelson Degala, Renato Abarquez, Emmanuel Po, Eddie Caranzo, Ruel Villacrusis, and Edgardo Reyes.
