Hyatt Golf Classic tees off tomorrow
It will be tee-off time early tomorrow morning, Sept. 20, for the 13th Annual Club at the Hyatt Golf Classic at the Laolao Bay Golf Resort in Kagman.
Tournament coordinator Yulia Camacho said there are about a hundred players who have already registered.
Camacho expects more to register today and before tee-off time. She added that the average total number of participants each year is between 120 and 140.
She is also anticipating around 30 walk-in players at the venue. Registration time is set at 6:30am while the shotgun start is at 7:30am.
Organized by the Hyatt Regency Saipan, the proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses “to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.”
To share the power of a wish, 15 percent of the tournament entry fees will benefit eligible children of the CNMI for 2006 tax purposes.
The registration fee will be $95 for Club Elan or Club at the Hyatt members and $110 for non-members.
The club at the Hyatt Golf Classic will again be adopting a four-person scramble format and the double Peoria handicap system.
There will be prizes for players who make a hole-in-one as well as fun and exciting games are planned for most holes.
The traditional dinner banquet will be at the Hyatt Regency Saipan poolside with a fee of $35.
According to Camacho, the Club at the Hyatt Golf Classic raised over $12,000 last year.
The foursome of Alex Tudela, George Fleming, Ed Cho, and Juan Pan Guerrero won last year’s event after carding the lowest net score of 68.4.
