Jeyrock is Club V’s newest resident DJ
Club V, the most happening place on Saipan, has now its own in-house DJ.
Jeyrock, a five-year veteran of Metro Manila’s party scene, brings with him the knowledge and experience he has accumulated as in-house DJ for such diverse dance clubs as Barraks Bar, New Episode and Arcadia.
As Club V’s resident DJ, Jeyrock will be offering dance and music lovers his dynamic stylings on the turntable, particularly his specialties in R&B, hip-hop, reggae, and dance hall music.
So what is dance hall music? “It’s mostly Jamaican music, a bit of reggae.” And the difference between R&B and hip-hop? “Well, R&B is smoother, while hip-hop has that ghetto attitude, kinda rough and in-your-face.”
When asked what he can offer Saipan’s party circuit denizens, Jeyrock said he is always updated on what’s new and hot in the world of music and he plans to make sure that Club V will always be playing the latest dance hits. At the same time, he will be playing backup to the live band, 7th Side.
Oscar Yema, SaipanGrand Hotel’s events manager, said they decided to bring in a new DJ as part of efforts to continue re-investing Club V and to continue to offer something new to the club’s patrons.
“Having a live band and an in-house DJ, they [customers] will enjoy themselves the moment they step into Club V. Whether it’s the band or the music mix, you will immediately feel that high-energy party atmosphere,” said Yema.
Jeyrock certainly knows what it takes to make a party place rock. Considered the youngest professional DJ in Manila, Jeyrock began his career at 18 while still studying at the Far Eastern University in Manila. Largely self-taught, he easily picked up on what his mentors where doing, peppering them with questions on how to mix music. And his idol? Celebrity DJ Kimosave, who is one of the most celebrated DJs in the country.
“I can sense the pulse of a dance floor so I know if people are enjoying themselves. Of course, if the dance floor is empty, that means that you’re not doing your best. As in-house DJ, I can promise the people of Saipan a great time when they come to Club V,” he said.
Club V is open on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday every week. (Saipan Tribune)
