Teams for next week’s opening of the Pacific Islands Club/Miller Lite 4-person Co-ed Fall Beach Volleyball League would be selected in a banquet tonight, the organizing Northern Mariana Islands Volleyball Association announced yesterday.

The banquet starts at 7pm at the PIC volleyball court, where the tournament format will be discussed.

NMIVA said this season’s format would be slightly different from last year and inaugural games are scheduled on Tuesday Sept. 23.

Games will be held twice a week and the league will run up to November.

Entry fees are $25 for non-NMIVA members and $20 for members. That includes the league, buffet and drinks at the banquet, and a token item such as towel, koozie, hat, or T-shirt.

For more information please call Lindsey Sosovec, PIC Sports Manager at 670-235-6231 extension 5147.

NMIVA is the CNMI’s umbrella volleyball association covering all aspects of indoor and outdoor games and players. NMIVA is a bona fide current member of FIVB and NMASA.

All of the organization’s fundraisers put money into the development of volleyball in the CNMI.

NMIVA is encouraging volleyball enthusiasts to become a member with an annual fee of $20. Members get regular email updates and discounts on all NMIVA-sanctioned volleyball events throughout the year.
