Ticket sales for the Red Cross’s 20th annual Club 200 event are underway.

This year’s event, slated for Oct. 25 from 5pm to 10pm at the Hyatt Regency Saipan, will have a Halloween theme.

“We’ve got some great ideas in store: spider webs, a haunted house, just kind of fun things,” said John Hirsh, executive director for CNMI’s Red Cross Chapter.

The $100 per person tickets can be bought at the Red Cross office up until 12pm on Oct. 25 or at the door. A “web of ticket sellers” is also selling tickets through the island.

Guests can dress up for the event, although they are not required to do so, Hirsh said.

There will be a costume contest and musician Willie K from Hawaii will perform.

The Red Cross will raffle off $20,000 at the event, an increase of $5,000 from last year’s raffle, to coincide with the 20th anniversary.

“We know people could really use that money in these hard economic times,” Hirsh said.

Ultimately, Hirsh said, he hopes people remember the event is for a good cause.

“This is our signature fundraiser,” he said. “It’s a critical part of our ability to operate the Red Cross in our community. The American Red Cross doesn’t pay us, we have to pay them to be a part of the network.”
