The results of the public forum for the candidates in this newspaper’s Opinion section will be published starting Monday, Sept. 22, along with the second question for the candidates. No responses to the first question will be accepted after the 19th to prevent any candidates from seeing what the others have to say before replying. The delegates should not be discouraged for any reason and to disregard the cheerleaders of your opposition. You shouldn’t let anyone prevent you from writing, which could sabotage your selection and this important event for the people. This forum also has the potential to change the politics of the CNMI forever. It is vital that all candidates meet the deadline, Sept. 19, and to limit their answers to 1,000 words with no vetting of their opposition. The people are watching and waiting to hear what every candidate has to say, so bring your “A” game, gentlemen.

I was so glad to see people even in Lakewood, Washington, appreciate what I’m trying to do and understand the mastery in what I have done for the people—thanks for the compliment and encouragement. We are electing our first major league player (national representative to government) and this is no time for politics as usual. Our delegate had better be our very best with no doubt and hopefully people now understand why I’m putting them to a real test, requiring them to stand on their own merits. Thank you gentlemen for cooperating on behalf of the voting public and we look forward to reading your responses.
