32 running for seats in CNMI Youth Congress
Thirty-two candidates are in the running for CNMI Youth Congress seats in the election to be held today.
The Youth Congress has 24 seats, including 14 for the schools and 10 for the election precincts. However, only 23 seats are up for grabs this year; Calvary Christian Academy is not participating.
Two incumbent members are seeking reelection: Christian A. Yamada from Kagman High School and Alana May DLG. Leon Guerrero from Precinct III.
The school candidates’ roll includes Kimberly B. Hofschneider, Grace Christian Academy; Seong Bin Lee and So Young Lee, Marianas Baptist Academy; Min Kyung Kim, Mount Carmel School; Sunny Frank L. Aldan and Ga Young Jeon, Northern Marianas Academy; Vicky Jean Castro, Min Seon Park, Aesha De-Brum Sablan, and Charlyn S. Techur, Northern Marianas College; Annie C. Camacho and Madison Julia Schultz, Saipan International School; Sung Yul Baik and Leilani S. Cepeda, Marianas High School; Jessel M. Mesa and Yamada, Kagman High School; Johora A. Paeda and Sylvino O. Taisacan, Rota High School; Maria Grace Madeline B. Alvarez, Saipan Southern High School; and Marisa D. Untalan, Tinian High School.
The precinct candidates are Bianca K. Blanco, Andrew C. Benavente, Tharnton T. Masayos, and Jessamin C. Santos, Precinct I; Adeleyah Charlotte Mojica, Precinct II; You Mi Lee, Leon Guerrero, and Thomas Rios Rabauliman, Precinct III; Maegan T. Norita, Precinct IV; Quina Marie P. Mendiola, Precinct V; and John A. Ayuyu and Viony Lynn M. Hocog, Precinct VI.
Voting will take place at Saipan schools from 8am to 12pm, and at Saipan precincts from 2pm to 6pm. All Tinian voters may cast their ballots at Tinian High School from 8am to 4pm. For Rota, the voting will be conducted at Rota High School from 8am to 4pm.
Each high school—public or private—gets one seat, while NMC has three. Meanwhile, Precincts I and III get three seats each, and the four other precincts get one each.
