The Singing V @ Club V, the first ever singing game show in CNMI is on its third week this coming Tuesday, Sept. 16. This series of event was inspired from the popular TV show Singing Bee at The Filipino Channel or TFC.

The 7th Side band performs live every Tuesday at Club V and sing parts of the song. Contestant needs to continue the required lyrics or simply say the lyrics. As their tag line says, “If You Can’t Sing It, Just Say.”

The Singing V is somehow similar to Name That Tune, but the Singing V requires the lyrics and not the title of the song and the song is performed live. This is a twist to the regular Barkada night at Club V where the band sings Original Filipino Music or OPM. This time, the party goers can be part of the performance as contestants. They could enjoy the party and win prizes as well.

There are 10 participants every week. The first six contestants to be eliminated automatically get $10 SaipanCell Call cards. The remaining four gets AOI dinner gift certificates from Saipan Grand Hotel. The weekly winner gets a gift certificate from SaipanCell worth $100 and $20 cash for every correct song lyrics answered. The defending champion every week gets a gift certificate from Macatangay Dermhealth Saipan Skin Care Specialist worth $85 and overnight stay for two at Saipan Grand Hotel, plus $20 for every correct song lyrics answered.

The first defending champion was Alex of Virallicci Salon during the Gay Power Episode last Sept. 2. He was out-sung by the challenger, Tina of Smartstart Day Care and Pre-school, during the Back-to-School Special last Sept. 9.

Tina will come back on Sept. 16 to compete with the new challenger. Theme for the next Singing V @ Club V is the hospitality business. Anyone working in a food and beverage industry can join this week’s Singing V.
