The local zoning office is gearing up to host a series of workshops to educate the public on zoning regulations, the office said in a statement issued today.

Zoning administrator Steve Tilley said the workshops—to be held at the Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe—will focus on key issues like applying for zoning permits, signage rules and new regulations on adult businesses. The workshops, he added, could be of particular value to builders, government agencies, business people and anyone with nonconforming buildings, signs or activities on their properties.

The workshops will begin Sept. 16, with a talk on local zoning rules, followed by a session on applications, forms and zoning office processes, Tilley said. On Sept. 17, the agenda will address adult business rules and signage.

The workshops will begin at 9am and continue until 11:30am. Participants will get a color zoning map of Saipan and informational handouts.

To reserve space, call the Zoning Office at 234-9661.
