Hyatt Regency Saipan wins Wine Rally
Hyatt Regency Saipan won the 9th Annual Pacific Wines and Spirits Wine Rally, allowing the hotel employees a chance to travel to wineries in Napa Valley, California.
Hyatt won the competition with 1,497 points, and will have the chance to travel to Napa Valley to visit the Rodney Strong, Robert Mondavi, Opus One, Quintessa, and Rutherford Ranch wineries.
“Despite the economy here, we try to give out incentives to show appreciation of their hard work,” said Orleyne Tabucanon of Pacific Wine and Spirits.
Winners of this year’s wine rally were announced Thursday at Aqua Resort Club, with Brad Ruszala acting as the event’s host.
Pacific Islands Club won second place with 1,078 points and Aqua Resort Club came in third with 493 points.
Lito Espino from Aqua Resort won the $500 giveaway.
This is the first year that Saipan hotels and restaurants had their own rally. In the past, the hotels and restaurants competed against their Guam counterparts.
Fifteen hotels and restaurants on Saipan took part and more than 250 people attended Thursday’s rally.
To mark next year’s 10th anniversary, the wine rally will have even more prizes, Tabucanon said.
