New Korean reality TV show films on Saipan
The Korean Broadcasting System is on Saipan filming a new segment for its “Happy Sunday” program, which is a very popular two-hour weekend entertainment show airing on Sundays from 6pm to 8pm.
KBS is the largest national TV network in Korea and “Happy Sunday” enjoys a viewership of approximately 15 million people.
“Happy Sunday” is launching a new program called “Single-Single” which is a celebrity mock-dating reality show and will be filming the first episode in Saipan. “Single-Single” show hosts are a very popular comedian/singer duo named “Country KkoKko (Jung-Hwan Shin and Jae-Hoon Tak). In addition, five actors and five actresses will be filming on Saipan.
Filming will consist of water sports and activities, couple games at Saipan Word Resort’s water park, cultural experiences, beach dates, island tours, a dance contest, a bottom-fishing tour, a monster truck jungle tour and a spa experience on Saipan.
The show will air on Sept. 21 and 28 as well as Oct. 5 and 12 and has an estimated value of $2 million to the CNMI.
The Marianas Visitors Authority acknowledged its members for their support to make this TV coverage happen. They include Saipan World Resort, Tasi Tours, K.P.S. Corporation, KTAS & Mode Tour, Bonita Park, DPS, Mariana Resort & Spa and Micronesia Handicraft.
