Quitugua hurdles basic Air Force training
Justo A. Quitugua, a graduate from Kagman High School, has completed the six and a half weeks of Basic Military Training in the Air Force at Lackland Airforce Base in San Antonio, Texas.
He graduated with 592 other recruits on June 13, 2008. He is with the 320th Training Squadron.
His proud parents, Rep. Justo S. Quitugua and Jackie, were in attendance during the graduation ceremony.
Airman Quitugua, who was only 17 years old when he enlisted, is now attending technical school at Shephard Air Force Base in Texas. After completing tech school, he will likely be stationed in Japan.
The BMT covers physical training program in preparation of physical rigor of military duty; discipline, which builds on the skills and training developed during the first week; structure, which covers training guidance in the areas of order, heritage, structure; and field training exercises, which puts the skills and knowledge learned to ultimate use.
The final stage of training is largely in the classroom setting, learning the moral and ethical standards of the U.S Air Force. During this time a final exam is conducted to earn the honor of being called an Airman. (PR)
