Three-day DUI checkpoints coming up
The Department of Public Safety’s Traffic Section will be conducting DUI checkpoints on Friday and Saturday and on Sept. 1, Monday.
Tomorrow, Aug. 29, the first set up will be on Beach Road San Jose by the Marianas Printing Building. This will start around 7:30pm and end at about 8:45pm.
The second setup will be on Chalan Pale Arnold Road in Gualo Rai by Bobby’s Café. This operation will start around 10pm and end at about 11:15pm.
On Saturday, Aug. 30, the first setup will be on Beach Road Garapan by Bank Pacific. This will start around 7:30pm and end at about 8:45pm.
The second setup will be on Chalan Pale Arnold Road in Chalan Laulau by the PTI Building. This operation will start around 10pm and end at about 11:15pm.
On Monday, Sept. 1, the first setup will be on Beach Road Chalan Laulau by the former Flair Club. This will start around 7:30pm and end at about 8:45pm.
The second setup will be on Chalan Pale Arnold Road in Gualo Rai by the Hans Corporation. This operation will start around 10pm and end at about 11:15pm.
Each checkpoint conducted will last at least 75 minutes (1 hour 15 minutes) at each location. This activity is part of the department’s efforts to deter and detect impaired driving and ensure that all vehicle occupants are protected.
In addition, traffic officers will be conducting highway criminal interdictions, saturation patrols, aggressive driver interdictions, and laser activities.
