Members of the House of Representatives are doing their job, according to Floor Leader Joseph James Norita Camacho.

In House bills alone, the 16th Legislature has introduced 145 bills in eight months, Camacho said during Friday’s session.

“That’s a lot of bills and many of them are good bills,” he said. “Every person here in one way or another is working everyday.”

The Floor Leader said all representatives have done their best to be transparent since all sessions are open to the public, are recorded and transferred to a journal.

“I told Rep. [Christina Sablan] that just because you are not at a meeting does not mean that it’s a secret meeting,” Camacho said.

Sablan has been very vocal in pushing for transparency in the House’s affairs.

Among House lawmakers, Camacho tops the list having principally authored 19 bills, one House legislative initiative, and one House joint resolution, in addition to co-sponsoring other legislations.

Rep. Justo S. Quitugua closely follows Camacho with 18 principally authored bills.
