The Sufa Softball Association is expecting over 80 participants to take part in its golf fundraiser today at the Coral Ocean Point Golf Resort in Koblerville.

The organization’s vice president Joe Salas said the event, dubbed simply as the Sufa Golf Tournament, will award $300 in cash for first place, while second and third runners-up will take home $200 and $100, respectively.

Salas added that the event is Sufa Softball Association’s last and final fundraising before the team departs to the 4th Annual Labor Day Softball Tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Sufa Golf Tournament will have a registration time of between 10:30am and 11:45am with a shotgun start of 12pm. Tournament fee is $100.

After the tournament, players are requested to proceed to the awards banquet presentation at the Minachom Atdao Pavilion in Susupe.

Salas said the proceeds from the fundraiser will once again help defray the cost of airfare, hotel, and other miscellaneous expenses of the team while they compete in Nevada.

Aside from first to third place, organizers would also award prizes to golfers who end up in fourth to 10th place.

The prizes are as follows: two free golf tickets at Laolao Bay Golf Resort for fourth and fifth; $20 Marianas Shell gas certificate and dinner at Hyatt Regency Saipan for sixth; $20 Marianas Shell gas certificate and lunch at Palm Resort Saipan for seventh, eighth, and ninth places, and Marianas Shell gas certificate and waterpark gift certificate for two at Pacific Island Club for 10th place.

Highest gross will also go home with a water park pass for two to PIC, while a hole-in-one will net a live deer. There will also be a longest drive competition in the 18th hole but the prize is still not available.
