RGA sets schedule for the rest of the year
Refaluwasch Golf Association has set its calendar for the rest of the year, which culminates with the 2008 Club Championship on Dec. 6.
Tournament director Jess Wabol said the Club Championship, which will assemble all 12 monthly champions for the season-ending competition, will be held at the Coral Ocean Point Golf Resort in Koblerville.
There is still plenty of golf to come around before the Club Championship, however, beginning with the September qualifier set either on Aug. 30 or 31 at the Kingfisher Golf Links in Talafofo.
Wabol said the reason why RGA is holding the month-end schedule open is the club still doesn’t know the availability of the venue. The same is true in succeeding qualifiers and Ace of the Month Tournaments for the rest of the year.
After the September qualifier, RGA will hold the September Ace of the Month Tournament on the weekend of Sept. 13 at the same Talafofo golf venue.
The October qualifier, meanwhile, is penciled on either Sept. 26 and 27 at the COP with the October Ace of the Month set for the weekend of Oct. 11 at the Koblerville golf course.
The November qualifier follows on the weekend of Oct. 25 at the Marianas Country Club with the association scheduling the real deal, November Ace of the Month, on either Nov. 8 and 9 at the Marpi golf course.
The November Ace of the Month will also be interesting, according to Wabol, because due to time constraints RGA will also use the tournament as the qualifier for its December Ace.
The December Ace of the Month Tournament will then tee off on the weekend of Dec. 22 at the west course of the Laolao Bay Golf Resort, which gives RGA players plenty of time to practice for the aforementioned Club Championship on Dec. 6.
Wabol also took time to remind Ace of the Month winners that they need to have played in a minimum of six tournaments (including qualifiers) in order to qualify for the yearend RGA Club Championship.
