Seatbelt, child seat checkpoints

The Department of Public Safety’s Traffic Section will be conducting seatbelt and child restraint checkpoints on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008.

The first setup will be on Beach Road Susupe across Ada Gym. This will begin around 8am and end at 9:15am.

The second setup will be on Beach Road Chalan Piao by Hopwood Jr. High School. It will begin around 4pm and end around 5:1pm.

Each checkpoint conducted will last at least 75 minutes (1 hour 15 minutes) at each location. This activity is part of the department’s efforts to deter and detect and ensure that all vehicles occupants are protected.

Traffic officers will also be conducting highway criminal interdictions, saturation patrols, aggressive driver interdictions, and laser activities.
