Department of Corrections routed the Commonwealth Ports Authority, 96-65, while PTI was headed to a similar win, leading the Department of Public Works/Procurement & Supply, 78-63, in the second game in the Inaugural PTI Inter-Government/Business Basketball League when the power went off Monday night at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.
Corrections drew 20-plus points from two players to cruise to a 31-point triumph against a depleted CPA crew.

PTI’s bid to improve to a 9-1 record and bounce back from an 87-82 loss to NMC, had to wait another day when a power outage hit the gym with less than three minutes left in the match.

Pangelinan added four triples in the second period to keep DPW in the driver’s seat, 39-34.
But DPW collapsed in the third period, as Esdrelon and Sanciangco suited up for PTI and big men Kelvin Fitial and Edsel Mendoza began to dominate the paint.
At the end of the third period, PTI was already on top, 65-58 and led by as much as 15, before the game was suspended due to a power outage.
Fitial has scored 16 points for PTI, while Mendoza and Esdrelon tossed in 14 apiece. Sanciangco had contributed 11. Pangelinan was pacing DPW with 40 points when the match was called off. He has made 11 triples.
