Due to insistent public demand, Tsunami Swimming Center Saipan will bring back its American Red Cross swim lessons this coming September and October at the Fiesta Resort and Spa Saipan.

In an email from the fledgling club’ manager Yuko Kimura, she said Tsunami Saipan will hold its immensely popular swim lessons from Sept. 13 to Oct. 11 at the south pool of the Garapan landmark.

Kimura, who is the wife of Tsunami Saipan head coach Hiro Kimura, said like in the past the swim lessons will be conducted by the club’s swimmers and coaches.

She said registration will be in a first-come, first-serve basis at the Fiesta Resort south pool area on Sept. 13 from 9:15am to 9:45am.

Cost to join the ARC swim lessons is $30 for both adults and children alike. Succeeding enrollees from the same family get $5 off as registration will only be $25 per person.

The first of five swim lessons will be on Sept. 13, 10am to 11am, and will be followed by four more one-hour sessions on Sept. 20, Sept. 27, Oct. 4, and Oct. 11.

All participants will be awarded American Red Cross certificates after graduation day on Oct. 11.

Enrolment is limited to only the 55 first sign-ups and children must be at least five years old to join. “No toddlers please,” said Kimura.

For more information about Tsunami Saipan’s ARC swim lessons or to confirm your children on the pre-register list, email Yuko Kimura at tsunamisaipan@yahoo.co.jp.

A total of 59 took part in Tsunami Saipan’s ARC swim held last June at Fiesta Resort and Spa Saipan.

Kimura then said the number of participants was a great follow-up to the 56 that took part in the Red Cross lessons in November 2007 and the 69 that signed up only last April.
