A man was injured when a car traveling along Beach Road hit him near the Bank of Saipan in Chalan Kanoa Saturday night.

Department of Public Safety spokesperson Lei Ogumoro said the preliminary information she gathered indicated that the victim was taken to the Commonwealth Health Center for broken bones.

Ogumoro said the driver is a local resident.

Ogumoro said a white sedan was traveling south on the outer lane when it struck the victim.

The accident was reported to DPS at 9:22pm.

The spokesperson said she had no information whether the driver was arrested or whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.

Ogumoro said no information was also available whether the victim was walking on the road or crossing the highway.

Last Sunday, Ogumoro said DPS would release details about the crash by Monday.

As of yesterday, DPS had yet to release the complete report to the media.
