Wendy’s launches school supply drive for public school students
The two-part campaign drive, beginning July 18 through Aug. 15, aims to collect school supplies such as pencils, pocket folders, composition notebooks, crayons, hand sanitizers and toilet paper as well as collect monetary donations. Supplies may be dropped off at Wendy’s locations in Tamuning and Barrigada and island residents can make monetary donations by logging on to www.stuffthebusguam.com or visiting all Wendy’s, Cold Stone Creamery, and Personal Finance Center locations.
All of the funds raised from the website and participating donation outlets will be used toward the purchase of additional supplies such as ink toner, copier paper, etc.
“Guam continues to be good to Wendy’s and this is our way of giving back,” says Sumiko Espaldon, owner of Quick Service Foods, Inc. doing business as Wendy’s Guam. “In 2006, the Wendy’s Stuff the Bus effort met overwhelming success and public support and this year, we hope to make an even larger impact by inviting other island businesses to participate and creating different ways for residents to get involved.”
The final day to make donations on both the website and through participating donation outlets is Friday, Aug. 15, 2008.
The Wendy’s Stuff the Bus campaign is made possible by other community supporters of public education such as GUAMCELL Communications, GGEFCU, The Mayor’s Council of Guam, Personal Finance Center, and National Office Supply to name a few.
Wendy’s was founded in 1969 by Dave Thomas and is the third largest quick services hamburger chain in the world with more than 6,700 restaurants in North America and international markets such as Guam. (PR)
