Case worker wins new kitchen showcase

A case worker with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation who is about to move into a new apartment now has everything for her kitchen—she won a whole showcase in the grand raffle draw for Foremost Foods Saipan’s “Gotta lotta cases?” promo.

Twenty-five-year-old Elvira O. Seman of Susupe said she was incredulous when she was informed on the phone by Rusty Loyola, Foremost Foods Saipan operations manager, that she won.

Seman said she was having doubts when Loyola called her on the phone. “I just went along. Then I called back to check,” Seman, who works at OVR’s Independent Living Older Blind Program, said.

The mother of a 4-year-old girl named Katriana, Seman said that she had been scheduled to move to a new place in Chalan Kanoa in two weeks when she was told that she won.

“It was unexpected. Now, I don’t have to worry about filling up my kitchen; I have the whole kitchen set up. This is wonderful. I am really grateful to Foremost Foods for having the promo especially in these trying times,” Seman said.

Seman won a 13.2 cu. ft. refrigerator; a bread toaster; an 18-inch grill; a seven-cup rice cooker; a blender; a food processor; a pressure cooker; a 13-piece cookware set; a dinnerware set, a waffle maker, a convection oven and a microwave oven.

Johnnie Fong, Foremost Foods managing director; said the promo was the company’s way of giving back to the community for choosing the healthy food products offered by Foremost.

“We feel that a kitchen showcase is a good complement to the healthful products that Foremost carries. Our beverages are good not only as drinks, but also as cooking ingredients,” he said.

Seman said that her kitchen package will go a long way in sprucing up her new kitchen.

Foremost Foods Saipan’s “Gotta lotta cases?” entitled customers to an entry form for every purchase of six 1-qt cartons of Foremost UHT Reduced Fat and/or Full Cream Milk.

Seman received her prizes at the Foremost Foods Saipan office in Chalan Laulau on July 11, 2008.

The promo ran from April 16 to July 5, 2008. There were eight winners in the first drawing, which was held on May 9, 2008. Each won one kitchen item. Five of the eight winners in the first drawing said they regularly bought Foremost Foods’ milk products by the case for their children.

The winner of the baby grand prize was Willina Mae Borja, an eight-month pregnant avid milk drinker from Chinatown who worked as a telephone operator. She won in the second drawing, which was held on June 2, 2008. The grand prize drawing was held on July 5, 2008. (PR)
