The Sufa Softball Association will hold its final organization meeting for its Softball Tournament Fundraiser tomorrow, July 17, 6pm at the Gilbert Ada Gymnasium conference room.

SSA vice president Joe Salas said, so far, from eight to nine teams have signed up for the competition, but they are still entertaining last-minute entries.

“The registered teams will have to draw for each respective slot number to commence the following day,” he said.

SSA’s Softball Tournament Fundraiser was supposed to be held last weekend but has since been moved to July 18, 19, and 20.

Sufa Softball’s competition will both use the Miguel “Tan Ge” Field at the Oleai Sports Complex and the Capital Hill Field at the foot of Mt. Tapochao.

Aside from the one-week postponement, everything about the competition stands. The tournament begins on July 18 and will be played from 5pm to 11pm at the Tan Ge Field.

The July 19 schedule will be a lot earlier and will commence at 9am until 5pm at the Capital Hill Field. Championship day will be Sunday, July 20, and will be from 9am to 5pm at the Capital Hill Field.

In the event Mother Nature cancels a game, the Capital Hill Field will still be available for use from 6:30pm to 11:30pm.

Entrance fee for the three-day tourney is $150. The champion will take home $150, the runner-up $75, and third place $50.

Mike Borja and Roque Celis will be serving as tournament director of the competition.
