Century Insurance Corp, an affiliate of Tan Holdings Corp., donated yesterday $5,000 as educational tax credit to the Rota-based Eskuelan San Francisco De Borja.

CIC president Dave Sablan presented the $5,000 check to Bishop Thomas Camacho at the office of the Chalan Kanoa Diocese. The Eskuelan San Francisco De Borja is a sister school of Mount Carmel School, and both are part of the Diocese of Chalan Kanoa.

The school’s finance officer, Fr. Bong Lopez, said they will use the money for operational expenses, including payment for utilities.

The Rota school had 55 students last year and is hoping to increase its enrollment numbers to at least 75.

“Dave Sablan is very generous, and I want to say thank you very much for all the help. May God bless the company,” said Lopez. “Bishop Camacho coordinated the whole issue and was the one that approached Dave Sablan for support in this matter.”
