‘Investigators have yet to finish probe on MGM fire’

As of yesterday, fire investigators were still determining what caused last Wednesday’s blaze that engulfed the MGM garment factory in Chalan Piao.

Department of Public Safety commissioner Claudio Norita told the media that investigators have yet to complete their investigation.

“No word on the cause yet from the investigators. My understanding is that maybe in the next couple more days we will be able to conclude the investigation,” Norita said.

The commissioner refused to comment further.

DPS spokesperson Lei Ogumoro said last week that the department may release the report pertaining to the cause by yesterday.

The fire resulted in the evacuation of over 200 factory workers. No one was hurt as the factory was closed at the time.
