Beach Road closed on July 4 for parade

The stretch of Beach Road from the Microl Intersection in San Jose to the Horiguchi Building in Garapan to will be closed on July 4 from 12:30pm to 6pm to make way for the Liberation Day Parade.

In addition, all secondary road intersections along the way would also be closed off until the end of the parade, according to the 2008 Liberation Day Steering Committee.

The Department of Public Safety’s Traffic Section is urging all drivers to be careful while traveling along Beach Road, Garapan on the 4th of July.

DPS urges the public to find alternative routes during the road closure.

The annual 4th of July parade will promptly start at 2pm. The parade route will take place from the National Office Supply and end in front of the Kristo Rai Church, Garapan (reviewing stand).

‘Safety briefing’

All individuals, groups and organizations participating in the upcoming 4th of July parade will undergo a safety briefing on Monday, June 30, 2008, at 5pm at the Liberation Day Festival grounds (bingo area).

At the same time, the 2008 Liberation Day Steering Committee said it would be also assigning the parade participants’ sequential numbers during the briefing.
