LISS offers Summer School Program to more students
By popular demand, the Ladera International School of Saipan, which originally offered its Summer School program to students between the ages 10 to 15, has now opened its Summer School program to students in grade levels from first to third and ninth and tenth in addition to the ongoing acceptance of fourth to eighth grade levels.
According to LISS director Wayne Pangelinan, limited slots are available and offered to the local community free of charge.
“With numerous requests from parents who wish to enroll their children in the lower grade levels as well higher grade levels, LISS decided to open up more slots to have our community avail of such programs,” Pangelinan said.
The opportunities, he added, are on a first-come, first-served basis.
It is set for June 9-July 5 and July 5-Aug. 1, Monday-Friday from 7:30am to 2:30pm.
The subjects that will be offered are Mathematics, Science, Physical Education, and English. Also, there will be afternoon programs offered for tutoring.
“Slots for students are capped and we are encouraging our local families to take advantage of what we are offering, but parents must act now and contact the school as some restrictions do apply,” added Pangelinan.
“Because we are an international school, we wish to provide better opportunities for the community where each student can meet new acquaintances that we believe would be truly beneficial for the child’s future,” added Pangelinan.
This summer, LISS is expecting students from Korea, Japan, Russia, and local students. A mixture of international students from abroad ages 10 to 15 years old will be on island to partake in the LISS summer program.
