DCCA calls for artwork
The Department of Community and Cultural Affairs, Division of the Commonwealth Council for Arts and Culture, is again preparing for its annual CNMI Women’s Exhibit schedule from June 2 to July 3, 2008.
The exhibit will be conducted at the CNMI gallery for Arts and Culture, located next to the post office in Capital Hill.
The exhibit will feature works created by all women of the CNMI. We are encouraging all women from all ages and cultures to take advantage of this special opportunity to provide experience, enhancement, promotion and recognition for all women who posses artistic talents, interests and knowledge.
The Arts Council is also looking forward this year to completing its Artist Registration Project. The project looks to provide our CNMI and the world with information regarding our island artisans, their work and contacts to include photo’s of both their work and picture that will be featured in this project.
We are calling all the community of artists to take part in this important project as the outcome of the book on all registered artist will provide them many opportunities to come.
The Arts Council is also encouraging card crafters to register their items to our exhibit. Craft Cards can be for all occasions. Father’s Day is just around the corner and it is a perfect time to sell local made cards.
Also graduation season is coming up and there will be many demands for “Artificial Lei’s and Mwars”, please exhibit them in our Galleria.
Interested women artists are asked to submit works by Wednesday May 28, 2008, to the Arts Council Office from 8pm to 4pm. Registration forms are available and free.
