Mayor Tudela inviting 20 students for Korea trip

Saipan Mayor Juan Borja Tudela is pleased to invite students from Saipan to participate in the 16th Annual Student Cultural Exchange Program which will be held in Seoul, Korea, from June 3 to 7, 2008.

There is a limit of 20 students for this year’s student cultural exchange trip.

The following requirements must be met in order to travel to Korea:

-You must be a student and attending school between 9th and 12th grade.

-You must have a valid U.S. passport (Passport must not to expire within six months from the departure date on June 3, 2008)

-You must be a Chamorro, Refaluwasch, or a mix decent of the two, and must be knowledgeable on the local cultures, the traditions and the history of the Marianas, and willing to share your stories with your Korean host family.

-You must have your parent and/or guardian’s approval to travel.

-You must have permission from your school principal and/or counselor.

-You must be in good health.

-You must have a good moral character.

-You must be active to participate in a group after school practice for local and traditional dance and songs before departure to Korea.

-If you are any of the above mention then, you may pick up an application at the Office the Mayor of Saipan, 1st Floor Afetnas Square, Chalan Tun Thomas P. Sablan, in San Antonio, between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.

-Deadline to complete and submit the application is Thursday, May 22, 2008 at 4pm.
