PTI helps Run For Ron
Local athlete Ronald Villafria is little more than two months away from competing in Japan, and his fundraising efforts for the 2008 Mt. Fuji Marathon recently received a boost when PTI joined his sponsorship bandwagon.
After hearing about Villafria’s quest for the ultimate Japanese challenge, PTI provided numerous prizes for this Sunday’s Race For Ron 5km Fun Run, as well as some special gear for the race’s namesake.
With its unmatched local cellular and top quality long distance service, PTI touts itself as “Your connection to the world!” After outfitting Villafria with a company hat and T-shirt, PTI helped Saipan’s super athlete stay in touch with his friends in the CNMI by providing him with a long distance card.
PTI long distance cards can be used from the CNMI, Guam, the United States, the Philippines, and Japan, and callers can reach out to anywhere in the world. That works well for Villafria, who plans to use his PTI long distance card after the marathon on Friday, July 25.
Registration for this Sunday’s Race For Ron 5km Fun Run begins at 5:30am at the Micro Beach pavilion with a 6am start time. The cost to help send Villafria to Japan is just $10 per person and includes a commemorative T-shirt and the chance to take home one of numerous prizes from PTI and the race’s other sponsors.
