Billions of plastic bags are choking our planet. All of these “free” bags ultimately cost both consumers and the environment plenty:

Each year billions of bags end up as ugly litter.

Production requires vast amounts of oil.

In a landfill, plastic bags take up to 1,000 years to degrade. As litter, they breakdown into tiny bits, contaminating our soil and water.

When plastic bags breakdown, small plastic particles can pose threats to marine life and contaminate the food web.

Recycling requires energy for the collection, processing, etc. and doesn’t address the above issues.

Keep in mind that while reusable bags cost money upfront, reusable bag can easily pay for itself during its lifecycle. Reusable bags will also help you eliminate hundreds, if not thousands, of those plastic and paper shopping bags choking our planet. It’s an easy way to do your part! (CoCo)
