GES starts Kindergarten registration

The Garapan Elementary School would like to announce the opening of registration for Kindergarten students.
Registration will take place in the main office beginning May 12, 2008, between the hours of 7:30am – 9am and 1pm – 2:20pm. Kindergarten students must be 5 years of age on or before the end of Aug. 31, 2008. Be sure to bring copies of all documents. GES charges a 25-cent fee per copy requested.
Required documents:
-Completed registration form
-Copy of Birth Certificate or Passport
-School Entrance Health Certificate
-Copy of Health Insurance (government, private, Medicaid or student accident insurance accepted)
-Map to residence
GES zoning areas include parts of Puerto Rico, upper/lower Navy Hill, Garapan, Chinatown, Northern Gualo Rai and Northern Beach Road (from the Gualo Rai traffic light to Marianas Eye Institute north).
In recognition of National Teacher Week, the administration also extends its heartfelt appreciation to all the teachers who make public schools great, especially the outstanding teachers at GES. We acknowledge the time and commitment teachers make in order to bring quality learning opportunities to all our children. Teachers today are asked to perform a variety of roles, some of which no school of education could ever prepare them for. They are facilitators of knowledge, counselors, pseudo-parents, nurses, education reformers as well as learners. They give of themselves beyond what is expected and continue to be resourceful, even in difficult financial times. The teachers at GES and the entire PSS family are an asset to each child they serve and subsequently, they are builders of our community.
