Hustlers complete title run

The SaipanCell Hustlers could afford to lose their final match in the Budweiser SBA Open 8-Ball League since they enjoy an 11-game lead over closest pursuer Jonny’s Detroyers.
But despite the huge lead, the Hustlers still showed their usual fighting form, squeezing out a 4-3 win over the Len’s 5 Bad Boyz in last week’s final day of competition for the bi-annual billiards league organized by the Saipan Billiards Association.
The Hustlers compiled a total of 82 wins in 105 games to enjoy an 11-game lead over the Destroyers’ 71-34 slate. Porky’s Extremists and Wild Bills Wild Wild West are tied from third to fourth places with similar 69-36 records.
Porky’s Wild Hogs also tied with Coral Reef Shark Attack at fifth to sixth places as both teams ended up with identical 63-42 slates.
All tiebreak matches will be played tomorrow.
The Hustlers made it official last April 22 when it hacked out a convincing 6-1 victory over Coral Reef Shark Attacks to improves its record to 78-20.
Other results of last April 29’s final game saw the Krystal Perfect Spotters and Shark Attacks score consecutive 7-0 shutout wins over Len’s 5 Amigos and Coral Reef Barracudas, while Mr. Wonderful Shooters cruised to a 5-2 triumph over the Wild Bill’s Snipers.
The Wild Wild West, Godfather’s Magas, and the Destroyers pulled off consecutive 4-3 decisions against USSP Fotten Palau, USSP Wat-Ever, and Extremists.
Pacific Amusement, the same company that runs the leagues of the Saipan Electronic Darts Association, organizes the Budweiser SBA Open 8-Ball League.
