The Advance X-Terminators continue to shadow Ol’Aces in the 2008 FMI Inter-Color Basketball League after pulling off a 104-97 come-from-behind win over MIGS in the Open division on Sunday at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.

GEC Pawnshop also rallied to score a 91-84 win over Price Costco in the open division, while the Taga Warriors dealt Bank of Saipan its first loss, 101-92, in the masters.

The win put the X-Terminators to a tie with Ol’Aces on top of the standings in the nine-team field as both teams have notched their fifth straight wins, while MIGS lost its sixth consecutive match.

The X-Terminators, which will face Ol’Aces today in the 8pm second game, rallied back from an 11-point halftime deficit to foil MIGS’ bid to end its five-game slide.

The first game will have the Fixers trying to win their first game this season when they go up against the CTSI Pacers at 6:30pm.

Ronald Delos Reyes and Raymond Cadagat combined for 41 of MIGS’ 55 first half points as they took control halfway in the match.

But Andres “Jhun” Estolas Jr., Jonathan Lim, and Lerio Pagarao waxed hot in the final two quarters to help the X-Terminators rally back into the game and escape with the win.

Estolas paced the X-Terminators with 34 points, while Lim and Pagarao added 20 and 15, respectively. Melvin Villarin had a quiet 10 points.

Delos Reyes and Cadagat combined for more than half of their team’s points with 35 and 32 each, while Reyad Tagle scattered 12 points.

In the second game, the GEC Pawnshop Panwbrokers shot 77 percent from the free throw line to score a 91-84 win over the Price Costco Storemasters.

The Pawnbrokers went 20-for-26 with Manuel Ajoste going 9-for-10 at the charity line. He finished with 22 points behind the 32 made by Mark Wallace, while Mike Olaitiman chipped in 16 markers.

Spencer Johnson scored 17 points to lead the Storemasters, which led at 44-35 at halftime and held on to a 66-63 advantage heading into the final period.

Delos Reyes scored 26 points as the Taga Warriors surprised league-leading Bank of Saipan, 101-92, in the lone masters division game.

Jun Abedes and Ed Cosino added 25 and 20 markers to back up Delos Reyes, while Eric Dizon scored 10 more with most of his points coming in the final quarter.

James Abuy led the Bankers—who went 7-for-20 from the free throw line for a 35 percent clip—with 26 points, while Dario Mamuta chipped in 23 markers with Sonny Ebuen ending up with 12.
