PTI signs accord with Hawaiian Telcom for directory assistance
PTI, the CNMI’s communications leader, was recently chosen to provide directory assistance to Hawaiian Telcom customers, with service beginning as early as next month.
Hawaiian Telcom selected PTI after searching for a company with an established track record of quality service, the ability to minimize customer service impacts during transition, the ability to provide additional directory services, and the willingness to commit to stringent quality standards.
PTI CEO Ricky Delgado was pleased to announce the deal and said that the partnership renews familiar bonds between the two communications providers.
“Having both been part of the same family for many years, PTI was a natural fit in helping Hawaiian Telcom achieve its customer service objectives. We at PTI look forward to working closely with Hawaiian Telcom to ensure world-class quality customer service,” said Delgado.
Hawaiian Telcom previous directory assistance provider, Metro One Telecommunications, announced that it was withdrawing from its nationwide directory assistance business this past March.
While currently providing directory assistance to the people of the CNMI and Guam, answering the call of overseas customers is nothing new to PTI. The agreement with Hawaiian Telcom means that the duties of providing the highest level of directory assistance service to the people of Hawaii falls on the shoulders of the people of the CNMI.
In order to provide Hawaiian Telcom’s customers the same high quality of service currently enjoyed by the CNMI and Guam, PTI will soon be opening a locally-staffed 20 seat call center on Saipan to answer the needs of the additional flow of communications to and from the Marianas.
PTI executive vice president and general manager Larry Knecht said that the deal provides another venue for PTI’s highly trained staff to put its quality service on display.
“This deal allows PTI the ability to expand upon one of the areas in which we excel, and the hard-working people of the CNMI are ready to bring the Hafa Adai spirit to the Islands of Aloha,” said Knecht. (PTI)
