Attempted robbery at Grand Poker

Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s help for an attempted robbery and criminal mischief incident that occurred at Grand Poker, Chalan Pale Arnold Highway, Gualo Rai.

On Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, at about 4:48am, police responded to an attempted robbery at the Grand Poker. Police learned from the cashier, a 42-year-old woman, that she first saw the suspect on the poker room’s CC television. The suspect walked into the poker room and toward the cashier booth. The cashier was locked inside the cashier booth. The suspect said, “Open the door! All I want is the money.” The cashier dialed “911” reporting the crime to police.

The suspect kicked the cashier booth’s door several times in an attempt to open the door. The suspect struck the cashier booth door repeatedly with the hammer and axe but was unable to gain entry. The suspect walked up to the cashier booth window and struck it several times with both the axe and hammer. After continuous attempts of kicking, striking the cashier booth door and window with the axe and hammer, the suspect exited the front door.

No money was taken and no one was injured during the attack. The cashier booth door and glass window were damaged by the suspect who is described as about 5’4 to 5’6 tall, medium build, wearing a light colored long sleeve sweater with a hoodie covering his head, black cloth covering his face, a pair of dark baggy long pants, a pair of black shoes, an axe in one hand, and a hammer in the other.
