Atmadyas and folded paper sculptures
The Tinian Chamorro-Carolinian Cultural Center is offering free lesson to Chamorros and Carolinians on making atmådyas this Saturday at the Tinian Senior Citizen Center Pavilion. The lesson will start at 9am. Bring your children so they, too, can learn the traditional ways of the Chamorros and Carolinians.
On Saipan, the Chamorro-Carolinian Village Cultural Centers Headquarters is offering free lesson to Chamorros and Carolinians on making folded paper sculpture. This is good for teenagers and young adults to learn as a money-making activity. The activity starts at 9:30am and is held at the Saipan Chamorro-Carolinian Village Cultural Centers Headquarters at 1213 Capitol Hill Road, across from the Workforce Investment Agency and next to the Board of Parole Office.
The activities on Tinian and Saipan are offered by the Association of Native Medicine and Culture, in partnership with the Community and Cultural Affairs, Office of the Mayor (Tinian), and the Indigenous Affairs Office (Saipan), and funded in part by the Administration for Native Americans. For more information, call 433-9220 on Tinian and ask for Raymond Sablan; 322-0278 on Saipan.
