TAMUNING, Guam—George Ashford, chief executive officer of Inchcape Asia, announced the appointment of Alex Hammett to serve as president of Atkins Kroll, Inc. and Atkins Kroll, (Saipan), Inc. effective March 16, 2018.

Hammett replaces Des Graham as president of Guam and the CNMI’s largest automotive retailer.

“Graham will be leaving…at the end of March. Des has decided to return to the United Kingdom to be closer to his parents, a decision we fully understand,” said Ashford.

While Des has over 32 years’ experience in the automotive industry, he has been with Inchcape Group for over 13 years, holding several roles, including franchise director for Inchcape in the UK, director of Inchcape’s Advantage program—a global training and business development program, divisional director for Ford UK, divisional director for MG Rover UK, and, for the last five years, president of our Guam and Saipan businesses,” added Ashford.

“He leaves us on a high note, not only having improved company performance, but with a much stronger team in place,” said Ashford.

Hammett serves as the operations director for Atkins Kroll, Inc. after his appointment as the operations director for Atkins Kroll’s Saipan dealership. He also held positions as AK’s Finance & Insurance director, responsible for strategy, development, and operations of the F&I group and car rental operations manager responsible for corporate leasing, fleet, and car rental operations.

Hammett worked in the hospitality industry at the region’s largest hotel properties and entertainment groups.

Hammett earned his bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Business Management from Washington State University. (PR)
