Art Deleon Guerrero tops SGA April Ace

Art Deleon Guerrero won the Saipan Golfers Association April Ace of the Month Tournament held last April 15 at the west course of the Laolao Bay Golf Resort.

Deleon Guerrero beat 28 other golfers for the title after carding a net score of 65. He shot identical 46s in the front and back for a raw score of 92, which minus his 27 handicap gave Deleon Guerrero the score to beat.

The April Ace also had one birdie and score a longest drive victory in last month’s tournament.

Netting a 69, Ray Dela Cruz placed second with one birdie, while Joe Demapan placed third with a net score of 71. The latter also had one closest-to-the-pin in hole No. 7 and two birdies.

Trailing behind the Top 3 finishers was Ben Aldan who netted a 72, followed by Juan Babauta, Tony Deleon Guerrero, and Eun Taeck Jung. All three tied with a net score of 73.

Also seeing action in the April competition were Frances Sablan (net score 74), Jesse Atalig (net score 75, one birdie, and an impressive eagle), Edward Sablan and James Whang (both had a net score 76), Ned Norita (net score 77, longest drive in hole No. 14 and two birdies), Mariano Fajardo (net score 77, closest-to-the-pin in hole No. 13 and three birdies), Martin Sablan (net score 77), Steve Jang (net score 78, closest-to-the-pin in hole No. 3 and three birdies), Steve Balakrishna (net score 79 and two birdies), Frank Castro (net score 79), John Cruz (net score 79), Ray San Nicolas (net score 79 and a birdie), Joe Deleon Guerrero (net score 80), Danny Quitugua (net score 80), Nick Sablan (net score 81, closest-to-the-pin in hole No. 17, with an impressive zero handicap; last month his handicap was a more impressive +3, and one birdie), Das Krishnan (net score 81), Larry Deleon Guerrero (net score 81), Ed Manibusan (net score 82 with an impressive +1 handicap), James Nelson (net score 83), Sonny Flores (net score 84), Juan Lizama (net score 85), and Frankie Pangelinan (net score 85 and a birdie).

SGA has scheduled its May Ace of the Month Tournament tomorrow, May 20, at the Laolao Bay Golf Resort east course.

Show time is at 9am with a tee time of 10:30am. Participants are requested to confirm their participation with any of SGA officers-Mariano Fajardo, Larry Deleon Guerrero, Edward and Frances Sablan, or tournament director Nick Sablan.
